Description:

The Ideal No. 44 was manufactured c. 1894-1933, and this example remains in very high condition. Features a nickel-silver "Rocky Mountain" blade front sight, adjustable sporting rear sight, special order half octagon barrel, smooth Schnabel forearm and straight wrist buttstock, and crescent steel buttplate. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 97% plus original blue and vivid casehardened finish, nearly all of the original glossy finish on the excellent wood, minor wear at the edges, some light specks of surface oxidation, and generally only slight age and storage related wear overall. Mechanically excellent. This is an excellent representative example of one of Stevens' classic models.
