The pistol features the correct early slide with the front serrations, marked on the left side with the two-block, two-line Browning's patent dates ending in 1902 and address followed by the uncircled Rampant Colt and "AUTOMATIC COLT/CALIBRE 38 RIMLESS SMOKELESS" on the right side. The Model 1902 roll mark on the left of the slide was probably applied likely during a reconfiguration and refinish by Colt, as it is also factory plugged in rear of slide with an added sight. The recoil spring plug was also updated to Model 1902 specifications. The serial number is marked on the left side of the frame. Blade and notch sights and casehardened rounded hammer. It is fitted with smooth walnut grips. Provenance: The Milan J. Turk Collection
Very fine, retains 90% plus of the factory quality refinished blue with some light edge wear and handling marks, and a few scattered spots of very light pitting visible on the back strap under the finish. The replacement grips are fine with numerous minor dings scattered throughout. Mechanically excellent.
