Lot 3411: Two German Luger Semi-Automatic Pistols with Holsters

Manufactured at an unknown date, several of the markings on this Luger have been subjected to targeted hammer peening, obscuring them; an "eagle/355" proof survives on the barrel, traces of a 4-digit date marking on the chamber, and what might be a "42" on the toggle link, suggesting Mauser production in the late 30s/early 40s. Fixed sights, with the serial number "22" on multiple components, full blue metal on the finish, a pair of checkered hardwood grips, and a blued "122/eagle/37" magazine with the number removed from the alloy base. With a black leather flap holster bearing faint 1936 maker's marks on the back and "SANDERS/54665754" on the flap and a takedown tool.

Fair with half of the blue, showing bright wear on the high edges, areas of gray patina, and scattered handling marks. The serial number has been professionally reapplied, and the military proofs have been obliterated. The grips are very good, with some dings and flat spots on the otherwise sharp checkering. The holster is fair, showing scuffing and cracking appropriate to age and use. Mechanically excellent.

Fixed sights, with "Bo32" and "8,83" marks on the underside of the barrel, "1914" on top of the breech and a "DWM" marked toggle. The hold-open is numbered "86", with matching full and partial numbers on the other metal components. Straw finished small parts, with niter blue springs and pins and checkered grips. Two nickel finished magazines are included, one numbered "6664/a/+" to match the pistol. With a brown leather flap holster bearing multiple unit markings and an unmarked takedown tool. Fine, with 50% of the original blue finish, showing areas of gray patina, bright edge wear, and scattered handling marks. Mild spotting is present on multiple components, with patches of heavier corrosion on the left side of the frame, sideplate and barrel. 30% of the straw and niter blue is present, with a mixed gray on the remainder. The grips are very fine, with some mild dents on the sharp checkering. The holster is fair as repaired, with riveted and re-stitched belt loops, scuffs and minor tears. The takedown tool shows nicks and sharpening on the screwdriver blade. Mechanically excellent.
