Hooded, ramped, beaded blade front sight and four leaf (one standing, three folding) rear sight with gold inlaid center lines on the raised rear quarter rib, and barrel marked "J. T. HAUGH - MILAN, IND." ahead of the rib and "470-Nitro Express" at the rear. The casehardened falling block action displays fine floral scroll engraving with scroll borders. The engraving extends to the breechblock, lever, and tangs. The rifle features a tang mounted rotary safety and is built as a takedown rifle with the use of the forend mounted takedown button. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fitting and a contrasting tip and pistol grip stock with engraved, casehardened grip cap, cheekpiece, blank inscription oval, and leather wrapped recoil pad. The handsome rifle was featured in "Fine Guns" by John Andrew Yerger and Steve Barnett, and this rifle definitely lives up to that name. The length of pull is 14 inches. The weight is 8 lbs 10 oz.
Excellent overall, retaining 99% original blue and casehardened finishes, minor handling evidence, a few minor marks in the wood, and sharp checkering on the wood. Mechanically excellent.
