The gun features a gold plated single selective trigger and tang mounted automatic safety switch with gold inlaid "SAFE". Beautiful, highly figured, fancy fluer-de-lis checkered beavertail forend with engraved fittings, rotary latch release, and contrasting ebony tip inlay. The stock is of the same exceptional quality with matching fluer-de-lis checkering and engraved and gold inlaid "GRAND/AMERICAN" grip cap, blank gold inscription oval, and checkered Winchester buttplate. The included letter from Connecticut Shotgun Manufacturing Co. confirms the current configuration and that the information on its configuration was being submitted to the Cody Museum at that time and that it was sold to them from the assets acquired through the liquidation of U.S. Repeating Arms (Winchester). Also included is a leather bound takedown case with canvas cover, cleaning tools, snap caps, and an extra 28 gauge barrel set. The extra barrel set measures 28 inches with a vent rib and bears matching number, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, chokes marked "IMP CYL"/"MOD", and has its own matching checkered beavertail forend, all of which is also confirmed in the above letter. Near mint overall as finished by CSMC, retaining 99% original blue and gold finishes with a light plum coloration to the blue on the barrels and minor handling evidence. The wood is also near mint with a few minor blemishes in the varnish, minor handling evidence, and sharp checkering. The case and extra barrel set are both excellent. Mechanically excellent.
