Manufactured in 1967, the first year of Ruger No. 1 production, and subsequently masterfully embellished. Manufactured without sights with a single gold band at the muzzle, engraving and gold embellishment around the rear quarter rib, and two gold bands at the breech. The coin finished action features floral scrollwork surrounding "RUGER/NO. 1" on top with a pair of howling coyotes in the desert on the left and a eagle preying on a road runner on the right. The lever is also engraved with scroll and features light gold inlay. The underside is signed "KAYE" likely for late Master Engraver Tommy Kaye. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with ebony forend tip and pistol grip stock with engraved coin grey grip cap depicting a buck, raised cheek piece, and checkered trapdoor buttplate. Includes a Leupold M8-7.5X scope.
Excellent overall as professionally embellished, retaining 99% blue, gold, and coin finishes, limited handling evidence, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The scope optics are sharp. Mechanically excellent.
