Manufactured in 1904-1908 with the standard two-line address and patent dates ending with 1901 on top of the barrel and model/caliber marking on the left. There is a circled Rampant Colt marked on the left of the frame and "VP" on the left of the trigger guard. The cylinder correctly rotates counter-clockwise with an interior measurement for a cartridge with a .381 base, suggesting .38 Long Colt rather than .38 Special. Fitted with pinned blade and windage adjustable notch sights, checkered trigger, hammer, and back strap; and a pair of checkered walnut grips.
Excellent plus, retains 99% of the bright original high polish blue finish with some extremely light edge wear and a light cylinder drag line. The grips are also excellent plus with a few scattered light blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. One will look a long time to improve on this outstanding example!
