Originally manufactured and marked as a U.S. M1 semi-automatic carbine, this example has been subjected to two rounds of upgrades, the first being an upgrade to the M2 Machine Carbine configuration, the second being the installation of a multi-purpose optics rail and foregrip assembly for use with both conventional day optics and active infra-red "sniper scope" night fighting sights. The Inland barrel is dated "9-44", with a conical flash hider and a Type III bayonet lug, standard markings on the receiver, and the selector switch installed on the left side. The optics rail is mounted to the barrel through the forearm and to the receiver at the rear sight base, with a plastic foregrip/switch assembly bracketing the front of the "pot belly" pattern M2 stock. The stock is marked "19" in white paint on the grip, with a range data card stapled into the sling channel and a green canvas sling. Currently installed on the rail is an M84 day scope, serial numbered "3147", and also included is a cased infrared "sniper scope" with accessories.

Very fine as arsenal refurbished and subsequently converted to full auto\/sniper configuration, with 80% of the parkerized finish, showing bright wear on the barrel and scattered light handling marks. The fine wood shows dents, scuffs and scratches overall. The M84 scope shows dark spots in the optics, which are otherwise clear, and the infrared scope is untested. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
