Description:

Manufactured circa 1906 to 1916. Combination Beach front, folding notch rear, and Vernier tang peep sight. The two line Stevens Arms address on the upper right flat. Casehardened action, lever and Swiss style buttplate with 5 stamped on the front face. Mounted to a finely figured multipoint checkered Schnabel forend and pistol grip stock. Barrel and buttplate are numbered to the gun. Includes some period advertisements and test targets. Provenance: The David Burghoff Collection

Rating Definition:

Fine, retaining 70% original blue finish and 40% original case colors with thinning to brown on the balance, scattered handling marks, and pitting on the lever. Wood is also fine with most of the original varnish remaining, slightly softened checkering, dings and scratches, and a couple cracks coming off the tangs.
