Description:

This sepia toned, panorama style print features a small herd of American bison grazing on the Montana prairie. The lower left is marked "Buffalo grazing The Big Open North Montana Prairies 1880", and the L.A. Huffman copyright is in the lower right, both in white ink. The exposed portion of the print measures 9 1/2 x 19 1/2 inches, and the frame measures 11 1/2 x 21 1/2 inches. Laton Alton Huffman (1854-1931) was among the few photographers to capture the landscape, Native Americans, wildlife, and ranching life in Montana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Later in his life he enlarged and colorized many of his original photographs.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, the image distinct and showing an attractive sepia tone with a few scattered minor scuffs/blemishes. The frame is also very fine showing an attractive aged patina and a few scattered minor dings/chips.
