Manufactured circa 1892 per Nigel Brown's "British Gunmakers Volume One: London". Blued steel barrels with beaded blade front and two position (one folding, one standing) rear sights on the wide matted solid rib which is signed "WATSON BROTHERS. 4 PALL MALL. LONDON.", floral scroll on the doll's head extension, Alexander Henry's patent rifling, London black powder proofs, and chambers with single extractor. The casehardened boxlock action features light floral scroll engraving surrounding "WATSON BROS." (faint) in banners on either side. The rifle features double triggers and tang mounted manual safety switch with gold inlaid "SAFE". Nicely figured, multi-point checkered splinter forend with engraved fittings, including the Deeley latch release, and pistol grip stock with blued steel grip cap, shadowline cheek piece, and brown rubber recoil pad. Per consignor this rifle came out of the former governor of Texas Allan Shivers collection. Length of pull 14 5/8 inches. Weight 9 lbs.

Very good, retaining 98% professionally reapplied blue finish, greyed patina on the action, with some pitting and wear to the engraving. The refinished wood is fine with scattered dings and scratches, moderate marring at the toe, and sharp checkering recut. Mechanically excellent.
