Blued steel barrels with beaded blade front and folding rear sights on the matted solid rib which is marked "A SCHMICKAL" in gold inlay, illegible markings on either barrel, and small wedges of scroll engraving at either breech. The shotgun barrels have 2 1/2 inch chambers and choke constrictions of .008/.018 inches and the rifle barrel has been sleeved to an unknown 6.5mm cartridge. The casehardened action displays floral scroll surrounding a roebuck and doe on the left and a stag and hind on the right. The gun features an interesting underlever cocking mechanism, double triggers, and a tang mounted switch to raise rear sight (not functioning). Nicely figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved fittings including the Deeley latch release and pistol grip stock with horn grip cap, raised cheek piece, engraved cartridge trap showing a German hunter, and a horn buttplate. Length of pull 13 7/8 inches. Weight 6 lbs. 14 oz.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retaining 98% reapplied blue finish, filled engraving on the barrels, rib repairs, worn markings, attractive grey patina to the action, and light handling evidence. The wood is very good with a few light scratches and worn but well-defined checkering. With exception of the previously mentioned sight switch and the action being slightly off-face, mechanically very good.
