The included factory letter lists this revolver as having a 4 3/4 inch barrel chambered in 45 Long Colt, blue finish, type of stocks not listed, and Grade "B" factory engraving by Cesare Giovanelli when shipped to Sile Distributors in Meriden, Connecticut on January 23, 1984. The letter goes on to state this was one of four sample engraved guns Giovanelli produced for Colt. Fitted to the revolver is a carved grip depicting a nude woman. While the revolver letters with Grade "B" engraving, the coverage percentage is much higher, extending to the cylinder and full length of the backstrap. Perhaps Giovanelli applied extra coverage in hopes of getting extra commissions. The left side of the triggerguard beneath the grips is stamped "COLT/ENG" above what is likely Giovanelli's "C.G." initials. Includes original Colt "woodgrain" box with Colt Custom Shop label. Excellent overall, retaining 99% plus original blue finish and case colors with limited handling marks and crisp engraving and a slight chip at the top (right side of the grip). Mechanically excellent. Box is very good with storage and handling marks.
