Manufactured in 1903. The included factory letter confirms the caliber and checkered pistol grip stock. The factory letter also states the rifle was received in the warehouse on September 1, 1903, shipped on December 22, 1903 and returned to the factory for repair on August 7, 1914. 1902 patent beaded blade front and elevation adjustable rear notch sights, third style barrel inscription on the top flat, "22 SHORT" caliber marking on top flat at the breech, and Second Model receiver with hidden locking lugs. Highly figured 12 groove forearm and checkered pistol grip stock with Winchester hard rubber grip cap and blue steel crescent buttplate. The left side of the lower tang and end of the buttstock have the matching assembly number "17342" with "XX" on the left side of the tang.

Fine with 60% plus original blue finish, artificial brown patina on the muzzle, some deeper dings and dents on the barrel, edge wear, scratches, and mostly brown patina on the tangs. The wood is also fine with attractive figure, moderately worn checkering, small scattered dings and bruises, mostly dark patina on the buttplate. Mechanically excellent.
