Marlin manufactured approximately 125,000 Model 1897s (Model '97) between 1897 and 1917. It was redesignated the Model 39 in 1922 which is still in production. This rifle features a beaded blade front sight and elevation adjustable rear sight, casehardened takedown receiver, and straight grip stock.

Very fine, retaining 97% plus original blue finish and 90% plus original case colors with scattered light handling marks, a small spot of oxidation on the left side of the frame and some spotting above the hammer. Wood is also very fine with slightly faded/dried out finish a few small dings overall. Mechanically excellent.
