This was the final revolver in the New Line series. Also known to collectors as the "Cop & Thug" because of the scene embossed on the grips of a policeman arresting a criminal. This revolver was manufactured in 1884. The etched panel reading "NEW POLICE 38" is missing from the left of the barrel. The top of the barrel is marked "COLT'S PT. F.A. MFG. Co/HARTFORD. CT. U.S.A." with the "U.S.A." almost unreadable. Fixed blade front sight with notched rear sight, five round fluted cylinder, spur trigger and checkered grips with "COLT" at the top and the cop and criminal at the bottom. Approximately 4,000 were manufactured between 1882-1886.

Very good as period re-nickeled with nearly all of the nickel finish remaining and overall light scattered scratches. There is a small area on the left side of the frame behind the recoil shield where some pin prick pitting has been finished over. All markings, except mentioned above, are clear. The grips are fine showing little wear and a few scattered minor dings. Mechanically fine.
