This desirable Bowie knife is attributed by the consignor as being from the personal collection of John Hart. Hart was involved in a plethora of movies and television shows, primarily Westerns, including a short stint as The Lone Ranger, as well as portraying Hawkeye in the TV show "Hawkeye and the Last of the Mohicans". An included copy of a description of a previous sale lists this knife with multiple photos signed by Hart (not included) and also a certificate of authenticity signed by Mick Lafever, Hart's agent, regarding the signatures. The knife measures 12 1/4 inches overall with a "Original Bowie Knife" marked clip point blade, S-shaped brass guard, and a stag grip with red, white, and hardwood spacers. The blade is marked "472" on the left ricasso and "EDGE BRAND/SOLINGEN/GERMANY" on the right. Includes an Edge Brand leather sheath.

Very fine overall, the blade mostly bright with some scattered light spotting and crisp markings, minimal wear on the grip, and attractive antique patina on the brass. The leather sheath is fine with moderate wear.
