Description:

The Norwegian Kongsberg Model 1914 was a slightly modified copy of the U.S. Model 1911 pistol used by the Norwegian Army. These pistols are nearly identical to the Colt Model 1911. This Model 1914 features a correct undated slide. The left side of the slide is marked with the later model 1914 caliber, model, and two digit serial number marking with "SVA" above. This pistol was manufactured by Skole Og Verkstedavdelingen Army Ordinance Technical School as a training exercise for their armorers in the 1950s using parts left over in the factory inventory from the 1940s. It is one of fifty produced by SVA. Matching serial numbers found on the frame, slide, trigger, safety, barrel, slide stop, mainspring housing, and grip safety. Includes informational plaque, photograph of the Kongsberg factory, and a letter from Kjell Jonassen about using the photo in books. This pistol is listed by serial number in "Kongsberg-Colten" by Karl Egil Hanevik on page 148.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retaining 97% plus original blue finish with handling marks, and minor dings and scratches. Grips are very good with spots of softened checkering and reapplied black varnish. Mechanically excellent.
