This Mauser sporting rifle is equipped with a ramped blade front sight and tangent rear sight graduated to 200 meters. The left side of the barrel at the breech end is marked "KAL. 22 LANG FUR BUCHSEN" followed by the serial number and "459" ahead of crown "B", "U" and "G" proof marks. The left of the receiver is marked with a crown "B" and "U" proof followed by the matching serial number and "MAUSER-WERKE A.G. OBERNDORF A.N." The top of the receiver is marked with the Mauser banner and "DEUTCHES SPORTMODELL" on the right rear. Mounted with a smooth one piece walnut pistol grip stock with a circled "RFSS" Reichsfuhrung SS stamp on the right of the buttstock, which is the SS Main Office. Another example of this stamp is pictured on page 335 of the book "Training Rifles of Third Reich Germany" by Robert Simpson. Includes a brown leather sling.

Good with traces of original blue finish, scattered areas of light to moderate pitting, and a few patches of mild pitting at the breech end of the barrel. Stock is also good with scattered scratches and dents, and a crisp stamp. Mechanically excellent.
