Description:

This is an exceptional example of an all original World War II Winchester M1 carbine that was manufactured in 1944. Blade front and "S" marked Type I two-position flip rear sight, undated Winchester "W" barrel, Type I barrel band, milled "W" trigger guard, unmarked push button safety, "W" magazine catch, "W" hammer, "W" operating rod, "W" blued finish flat top bolt, "W" heel plate, and "BW" magazine. High wood stock with "W" marked sling inlet, "W.R.A./G.H.D." behind crossed cannons cartouche on the right of the buttstock, and "W" two-rivet handguard. Includes an olive drab green canvas sling and oiler. Provenance: The Steven Preston Military Collection

Rating Definition:

Excellent, retains 98% plus original parkerized finish with very light cycling wear, and sharp markings and edges in the metal. 97% original blue finish remains on both the bolt and magazine. Stock is also excellent with attractive original raised grain and rich oil finish, some light handling marks, a patch of light scuffs underneath the right of the forend, a few minor small nicks on the edge of the pistol grip, defined edges, and crisp stampings. Mechanically excellent.
