Description:

"ROCK-OLA" marked barrel dated "5-43". Unmarked blade front sight and Type I "BR" and "S" marked two-position flip rear sight, Type I "M-R" barrel band, "ROCK-OLA" blued finish flat top bolt, "ROCK-OLA" heel plate, Type I "ROCK OLA" slide, milled "ROCK-OLA" trigger guard, "KR" hammer, "A-R" magazine catch, and "UU" magazine. "RMC" Type I two rivet handguard with the deep sighting groove, high wood stock with boxed "RMC" inspection cartouche ahead of crossed Ordnance cannons marked on the right and "RMC" in the sling recess. Includes an olive drab green canvas sling and oiler. Provenance: The Steven Preston Military Collection

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine, retains 85% plus original parkerized finish with some light thinning and scattered light nicks on the barrel, and sharp markings in the metal. 80% original blue finish remains on the bolt. 95% original blue finish remains on the magazine. Stock is very fine as lightly arsenal sanded and re-oiled with scattered light scratches and dents, and a moderate chipped section to the left of the heel plate. Mechanically excellent.
