Originally manufactured in July of 1943 and subsequently arsenal upgraded to the M1D Sniper configuration. Rifles so converted were used as sniper weapons during Korea and the Vietnam War. Blade front and peep rear sights,"S-A-6-52" barrel, "DRC" windage drum, "SA" bolt, trigger housing, hammer, safety, and operating rod. Circled "P" proofmark on bottom of the wrist of the stock. Fitted with a five-prong flash hider. The M84 scope is serial numbered "28201", with a post-and-crosshair reticle, sliding sunshield and a rubber eyepiece. Notably, the "MRT/1 52" marked leather cheekpiece has been semi-permanently installed via a pair of brass screws driven through the leather and into the wood; this would be the final step of an Army sniper getting their cheekpiece set for a personal custom fit and is not often seen on M1Ds on the market.

Exceptionally fine as arsenal upgraded to M1D configuration, retains 99% parkerized finish with only light handling marks. Stock is excellent plus with a few light handling marks. Scope is excellent, retains 99% original blue finish on the tube with a few light handling marks and crisp optics. Mechanically excellent.
