Description:

This is an original configuration World War II M1 Carbine manufactured by Standard Products. "N" marked blade front sight and "S" marked two-leaf rear sight, with a correct undated Marlin barrel, Type I barrel band, "STANDARD/PRODUCTS" heel plate, "40S" blued finish flat top bolt, "102" operating rod, "ST" stamped trigger guard, "SW" hammer, unmarked push button safety and "SW" magazine catch. Smooth low wood stock with 2-rivet "S-HB" marked handguard, "S-HB" marked in the sling inlet, oval oiler cut, crossed Ordnance cannons cartouche marked on right of the stock, and a checkered buttplate. Includes an olive drab green canvas sling, 1943 dated Avery "U.S." canvas double magazine pouch, and two extra magazines ("U" and "SS" marked). Provenance: The Steven Preston Military Collection

Rating Definition:

Extremely fine, retains 90% original parkerized finish with some light cycling wear, some areas of light to moderate freckling, and sharp markings in the metal. 80% original blue finish remains on the bolt. Stock is fine with defined edges, some light scratches and dents, a threaded empty sling swivel hole below the forend and on the belly of the buttstock. Mechanically excellent.
