Description:

Built from a combination of new-made and military surplus components by Douglas Laurence Oefinger of Stamford, Connecticut, this is a fully functional Browning Model 1919A4 Machine Gun outfitted as an infantry weapon and marked in the style of a World War II-production gun from the Saginaw Steering Gear Division of General Motors. A direct descendant of the Browning Model 1917 water-cooled machine gun, the 1919 was a lightweight and versatile machine gun, which was a primary weapon for all branches of the American armed forces during World War II and beyond. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, long ventilated heat shield around the barrel and Saginaw/DLO nomenclature markings on the right side plate. Fitted with a walnut carry handle and spade grip assembly.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 97% plus refurbished parkerized finish with some light surface corrosion at the muzzle and light handling marks overall. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
