This automatic carbine was produced by Rock Island Armory Incorporated of Geneseo, Illinois, using military surplus M1 components. The receiver is Underwood and still retains its original "M1" marking on the receiver ring. "EU" blade front and unmarked adjustable rear sights, Underwood "2-44" barrel ("RIA" mark added to right side of chamber),"SI" Type III barrel band, "MU" flip safety, "M" magazine catch, "D.I." recoil plate, "SA" low wood M2 type walnut stock with 4-rivet handguard, "T" operating rod, cast trigger housing with no legible markings, "7161837" auto sear, and a round bolt. One magazine (unmarked, no side lug) is included.

Very fine as upgraded to fully automatic configuration, retains 95% refinished parkerized finish with an area of loss/discoloration and very light pitting on top of the receiver ring, and some light handling marks and scratches. Stock is very fine with a few scattered scratches. Mechanically excellent. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
