Description:

The exposed portion of this colorized print measures 9 1/4 x 10 3/4 inches and features a fantastic scene of cowboys hard at work packing up their camp, loading wagons, and rounding up horses before a long day working the herds. Marked along the bottom of the print in white ink is "#176 The Round-up Breaking Camp, Negative, Print and Copyright by L.A.Huffman Miles-C Mont 04." In the bottom left corner there is a small minor smudge that may be the remnants of "35" in black ink. The hardwood frame has a faint aged gilt finish and measures 15 3/4 x 17 1/4 inches. The backing paper on the frame is marked "D. Koster". Laton Alton Huffman (1854-1931) was among the few photographers to capture the landscape, Native Americans, wildlife, and ranching life in Montana in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and became one of the legendary photographers of the American West.

Rating Definition:

Exceptionally fine, the image distinct with extremely minimal wear or fading and the matting crisp and clean. The frame is very fine with a few scattered minor dings and scratches.
