Description:

The factory letter lists the revolver in .45 caliber with a 4 3/4 inch barrel and blue finish when shipped to Jackson & Hughes Co. in El Paso, Texas, in a shipment with 20 guns of this type on August 17, 1903. The Jackson-Hughes Co. was active from c. 1900 until 1950. In 1903, they were listed as a 'large wholesale hardware and saddlery house" and advertised buggies and other horse drawn vehicles. The revolver has standard markings and features, including matching serial numbers. Includes a lightly floral tooled holster hand-marked "RWH" on the rear.

Rating Definition:

Very good with a very attractive western used look. The metal displays traces of original finish in the protected areas and otherwise a mottled gray and brown patina along with some mild oxidation/pitting, dings and marks, and holster wear. The grips are also very good and have moderately hand worn checkering, edge wear, and attractive aged coloration. Mechanically fine. The holster is good with age hardening, distinct designs, and moderate overall wear. An attractive early 20th century Texas Colt.
