Manufactured in 1855. The single line "ADDRESS. COL: COLT. Equipped with the iron back strap and trigger guard, which were only found on London guns during this period, and smooth one piece walnut grips. Matching full and partial serial number marked on the loading lever, barrel, frame, cylinder and grip strap. Includes a red lined wooden case containing a "COLTS/PATENT" marked bullet mold, cleaning rod, L-Shaped combination tool, spare mainspring (broken in two), Eley Bros cap tin and a James Dixon & Sons "COLTS NAVY FLASK" marked powder flask.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus, retains 40% original blue finish on the barrel with scattered flaking, some patches of light pitting, and smooth brown patina on the balance, traces of original case colors visible in protected areas of the frame and smooth gray patina on the remaining surfaces with defined cylinder scene and markings. Grip is very good as period revarnished with scattered dents and scratches, some crazing, and re-cut flats with defined edges. Mechanically fine. Included case is fine with some light dents and scratches, and some aging of the otherwise very good lining. Accessories are all very good.
