Description:

This revolver was manufactured at the London factory in 1854 and features high quality period applied English scroll and floral engraving, "-ADDRESS COL. COLT LONDON-" inscribed on the top of the barrel, "COLTS PATENT" inscribed in a banner on the left side of the frame, light London proof and view marks on the barrel and cylinder, all matching serial numbers, dot marking by the main serial numbers, cone and hammer notch sights, and smooth walnut grip. It comes in a fitted mahogany case with inscribed initials on the lid escutcheon (appears to be "JFDD"), a steel "COLTS/PATENT" marked mold, Dixon & Sons oiler, a bag shaped G. & J.W. Hawksley flask, cap tin, and a few balls and conical bullets.

Rating Definition:

Very good with strong period refinished blue finish remaining on the breech end of the barrel, mostly smooth gray and brown patina on the balance, some minor pitting, worn away cylinder scene, traces of silver under the grip, and crisp engraving. Mechanically fine. The relined case and accessories are very good with age and storage related wear and a chemically cleaned surfaces on the Colt mold.
