The only markings on this very well made reproduction field gun with a smooth bore are "NO./1" on the left trunnion and "1841" on the right trunnion, and the maker is unknown. Although slightly smaller dimensionally and with a smaller bore, it is in the style of a U.S. Model 1841 field gun of the type used in both the Mexican-American War and the American Civil War. The unmarked reproduction olive green carriage with black iron hardware is fitted with front rod hooks, an elevation wheel and iron bound 14 spoke wheels. Measuring approximately 49 inches long from muzzle to rear tip and 11 1/2 inches wide at the trunnions, with a bore measuring 2 5/16 inches. The carriage measures approximately 58 inches in length, with a 61 inch width, and a wheel height of approximately 42 inches.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, the brass tube retains 95% applied dulled red paint. The reproduction carriage is also very good, retains 85% green paint with some areas of flaking and weathering.
