Manufactured in 1938. The barrel is stamped with the one-line Hartford address on top and "COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45 on the left side. The left side of the frame has the two-line patent dates marking followed by a Rampant Colt. The left side of the trigger guard has a Colt factory triangle proof and the number "4." Matching serial number on the frame and right side of the trigger guard and back strap under the grip. The cylinder has the matching partial serial number "41" on the rear face. Matching assembly number on the loading gate and back of the frame. The Colt factory black box is numbered to a different gun and has a partial end label. Also includes "Handling the Handgun" pamphlet, warranty card filled out to a different SAA, and instructions.

Very fine, retaining 95% plus refinished blue finish showing some scattered minor thinning and a faint cylinder drag line. 95% refurbished case colors remain on the frame. The grips are also very fine with a few minor handling marks and overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good with a couple split corners and tape repairs.
