Description:

Manufactured in 1876 as a Second Model. The left side of the rare 2 3/4 inch barrel has the desirable acid etched panel marked "COLT NEW 22", the top marked with the two-line address, the patent date on the bottom, and the matching serial number on the butt, rear of the cylinder, and bottom of the barrel ("9247"). There are British proofs on the barrel and cylinder. It is fitted with a pair of smooth hardwood grips. Includes a leatherette wrapped hard case. Also a 1902 dated handwritten note indicating that the revolver was once given as a gift.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 85% plus of the frosted, untouched original nickel finish with some scattered light flaking revealing mostly a smooth grey patina and a well-defined acid etched panel. The grips are fine with some scattered light handling marks and retaining most of the varnish. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some mild handling/storage wear and some minor stains.
