Manufactured in 1931. Blued Armor Steel barrels with a single bead sight on the matted flat solid rib, standard barrel markings, and 3 inch chambers with a single extractor. The casehardened receiver and lockplates show standard markings and feature double triggers and a tang mounted automatic safety switch. Lightly figured, multi-point checkered splinter forearm with rotary latch release and pistol grip stock with hard rubber grip cap and serrated buttplate. This gun is one of only 2,375 Field Grades built in as a .410 bore out of a total of 195,205 per page 177 of William Brophy's "L. C. Smith Shotguns", making this quite a rare gun. Barrel and stock measurements (R/L): choke constriction.013/.025 inches; 1 3/8 inch drop at comb; 2 1/4 inch drop at heel; 14 inch length of pull; weight 5 lbs 14 oz.

Very fine overall, retaining 98% original blue with some areas of light spotting, 60% original case colors with the balance a brown and grey patina, mild handling evidence, a slight chip at the toe of the buttplate, and well-defined checkering. Mechanically excellent.
