Description:

Manufactured in 1942. "COLT COMMANDO/38 SPECIAL" marked on the left of the barrel in two lines, ordnance "flaming bomb" stamped on the left of the frame ahead of the hammer, and a pair of checkered grips with Rampant Colt imprints. The accompanying factory letter confirms the 2 inch barrel in .38 caliber and parkerized finish (type of stocks not listed). The letter also states the revolver was shipped to Port Transportation Officer, San Francisco Port of Embarkation, Oakland, California, on April 28, 1943. This was a 500 gun shipment. Rating Definition:

Excellent, retains 98% original parkerized finish with a faint cylinder drag line and a few small spots of dark pitting/corrosion on the cylinder. Grips are also excellent with a few light handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
