Blade front and notch rear sights, with "1913" on the chamber, "DWM" on the front toggle link, , with the DWM monogram on the front toggle. Three "crown/letter" proofs are present on the right side of the extension, with Imperial eagle firing proofs on the extension, barrel and breechblock. This early model pistol was manufactured without a stock lug or a hold-open, and has not been retrofitted to accept the latter. The frontstrap is marked "B.3.A.F.II.4.M.6.", indicating issue to the 3rd Royal Bavarian Foot Artillery, a component unit of the 3rd Royal Bavarian Army Corps at the start of World War One. Arranged under the German 6th Army, the 3rd Corps fought chiefly on the Western Front. Fitted with straw and niter blue finished small parts, checkered grips, and a nickel finished magazine with a hardwood base. Numbers are matching overall, including on the grips and magazine base. With a brown leather flap holster dated "1915" via ink stamp on the interior and a small takedown tool. Provenance: The Mel Raucher Collection

Excellent, with 95% plus original blue finish, showing some light spotting and handling marks overall. 70% of the bright original straw color is present on the small parts, and the grips show some minor dings and dark spots. The holster is very fine, with mild scuffing overall and a bit of cracking at the flap hinge. Mechanically excellent.
