One of approximately 4,000 manufactured from 1880 to 1886, with this example produced in 1883. The top of the barrel has the two-line address, and the "COLT HOUSE 38" etched panel is on the left. There are British proofs on the barrel and cylinder. It has standard features and the serial number is marked on the butt. Includes a leather wrapped hard case, cleaning rod/screwdriver, and five Kynoch .380 CF cartridges.
Fine, retains 50% of the original high polish blue finish with the balance having thinned to mostly a smooth grey-brown patina and a few scattered small patches of light pitting. Exceptionally fine original acid etched panel on the barrel. The grips are also fine with some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some mild wear, primarily on edges and corners, and a white paint-like stain on the lid.
