Made in Germany for the Santa Fe Division of Golden State Arms, these early G3 rifles were only imported for one year as part of H&Ks initial push into the American market. Hooded post front sight, with a four-position drum rear sight. The left side of the magazine well bears the H&K model marking, serial number and "3/62" date, with the left side of the matching number trigger housing bearing Golden State's markings and "S/E" marked selector positions. The receiver is in "pin" configuration, rarely seen on H&K semi-autos with a working "paddle magazine catch, and a "3/62" dated bolt carrier. Ribbed and ventilated forearm, with a smooth plastic pistol grip, and matching numbered fixed buttstock.
Very fine overall, retaining 90% plus original phosphate finish with light handling marks, spotting on top of the receiver, dings and scratches on the furniture, and a crack coming from the rear sling inlet. Mechanically excellent.
