This example is one of the semi-automatic carbines designed by the famous Gordon Ingram. Introduced in 1948 and produced by the Police Ordnance Company, it is patterned along the lines of the Thompson. This model was introduced in very limited numbers finding clients with policemen, prison guards, and the Cuban Navy. Blade front and adjustable notch rear sights, with the chamber marked "INGRAM PATENTS PENDING/POLICE ORDNANCE COMPANY/LOS ANGELES CALIF. U.S.A./M6 MILITARY CAL. .45 A.C.P." and a safety switch on the right side. Though an "AUTO" position is marked, it is purely cosmetic. Pistol grip forearm and smooth pistol grip stock.
Very good, with 90% of the original blue finish, showing scattered brown spotting on the barrel and upper frame tube, mild rust ahead of the chamber, scratching on the left side of the frame and some mild handling marks overall. Stock is very good, with a crack on the rear of the foregrip and pressure dents on the buttstock. A ring bulge is present in the barrel, about an inch back from the muzzle. Mechanically excellent. A very scarce Ingram Patent Model 6 carbine.
