This third model 1873 rifle was manufactured 1886. The rifle has Beach combination front, elevation adjustable rear (missing elevator) and Vernier tang sights. The top of the barrel has the two-line address/patent dates ahead of the rear sight and "38 CAL" at the breech. The cartridge elevator is marked "38 CAL." Mounted with a smooth straight grip stock fitted with a crescent buttplate with compartment (cleaning rod not included).

Fine. The rifle retains 30% plus original blue finish with the balance a mottled brown-gray patina. 40% of the bright original nitre blue remains on the loading gate. The wood is also fine with some minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
