Description:

Built from a combination of new-made and military surplus components by Douglas Laurence Oefinger of Stamford, Connecticut, this is a Browning Model 1919A4 Machine Gun outfitted as an infantry weapon and marked in the style of a World War II-production gun from the Saginaw Steering Gear Division of General Motors. A direct descendant of the Browning Model 1917 water-cooled machine gun, the 1919 was a lightweight and versatile machine gun, which was a primary weapon for all branches of the American armed forces during World War II and beyond. Blade front and folding ladder rear sights, long ventilated heat shield around the barrel, Saginaw/DLO nomenclature markings on the right side plate, Israeli nomenclature on the left, and a checkered pistol grip. With a tripod, canvas cases, and assorted extra parts.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as remanufactured, with 97% of the refurbished matte gray phosphate finish, showing mild oxidization on and around the muzzle and mild handling marks overall. The internal components are incomplete, with the bolt assembly being absent. Accessories are in good order, showing wear and staining appropriate to age and use. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
