Manufactured in 1909 with the two-line address, patent date, and caliber marking on top of the slide. It is fitted with a blade front sight and notch rear sight, as well as a pair of checkered metal grips with the Savage logos. The included factory letter lists shipment on 28 July 1909 to Schoverling, Daly & Gales, a large dealer in New York. The letter also notes that "DUP" is marked for this pistol in the ledger, indicating that it may be a duplicate serial number. Also includes a rare factory box that is correctly labeled to the gun. Provenance: The Bailey Brower, Jr. Collection, author of “Savage Pistols”
Excellent, retains 98% plus of the original blue finish and 99% vibrant case colors on the trigger with a few scattered light handling marks, primarily on the grip straps. The grips are also excellent, retaining most of the original finish with only the slightest handling marks and crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The box is fine with some mild wear and a couple of the lid edges detached.
