Blued Bohler-Laufstahl ported barrels with dual bead sights on the matted vent rib which is marked with a gold "12" at the breech, 1970 dated German proofs, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, and chokes marked "S"/"S" (skeet/skeet). The barrels currently have a set of .410 bore full length inserts installed. The barrels are decorated with floral scroll engraving at the muzzle, on the front forend hanger, and at the breech along with beautifully executed gold inlaid line work. The blued action displays extensive, highly attractive decoration. The action decoration consists of four deep cut relief engraved gold inlaid game scenes, all of which are surrounded by fantastic scroll designs and gold inlaid line borders. The left side depicts a trio of pheasants being flushed by a setter in an upland scene, the right side shows a pointer flushing a trio of grouse in a wooded scene, the underside has a single woodcock, and the triggerguard has two quail. Aside from the scenes, there is some gold inlaid line work as well as relief inlaid silver oak leaves on the underside, toplever, and triggerguard. The top tang is signed "ENG.W.KOLOUCH" for famed Master Engraver Walter Kolouch. The gun features a gold plated selective single gold trigger and a tang mounted safety. Beautifully figured, multi-point checkered forend with engraved and gold inlaid shoe, and pistol grip stock with ebony grip cap, adjustable comb, and adjustable rubber recoil pad. Includes three extra barrel sets, all measuring 28 inches, in .410 bore, 28 gauge, and 20 gauge all with matching gold inlay and engraving. Also included is a leather bound takedown case that houses the entire set. Barrel measurements for the .410 bore set (U/O): choke constriction .003/.004 inches. Excellent overall, retaining 99% blue and gold finishes with limited handling evidence, crisp engraving, and sharp checkering on the stock and forend. The case is very good and the extra barrel sets are also all excellent. Mechanically excellent.
