Standard markings and features. The included letter from Allen M. Bernkrant, former president of Southern Gun & Tackle, Inc. states that as far as he knows this revolver represents the serial number one of this model, though S&W expert Jim Supica notes in his included letter the revolver may have a vanity serial number. Supica wrote, "On 12 of the 30 Guns [in Bernkrant's collection] the serial number incorporates 'AB' or 'AMB' or 'MB'... Mr. Bernkrant acknowledged that these guns include his initials." Also included with the pistol is the original box with end label listing a six inch barrel (currently equipped with a four inch barrel). Provenance: The Supica Collection

Excellent overall, retaining 95% original blue finish with limited handling marks, some oxidation on the barrel shroud, and a light cylinder drag line. Mechanically excellent. Box is very good.
