This U.S. Springfield Model 1816 musket has a bolster conversion performed by Hewes & Phillips of Newark, New Jersey, and features their distinctive percussion breech with integral "H&P" marked bolster, "1862" dated plug, and "1826" dated lock. Includes a U.S. socket bayonet.

Exceptionally fine, retains bright surfaces with some very light freckling, and sharp markings and edges in the metal overall. Stock is very fine with attractive original raised grain and rich oil finish, and some light handling marks and dents. Mechanically excellent. Included bayonet is very good.
