This is a beautifully embellished example of a Caucasian style qama dagger, also commonly referred to as "Cossack" daggers, due to the famous horsemen regularly carrying them. It measures 18 1/2 inches overall and a 13 1/4 inch spear point blade with a set of spear point shaped triple fullers on each side, as well as an flower shaped maker's mark on the outside of the blade. The hilt is extensively embellished with floral engraving, blued borders, and silver plating, the backside of the hilt smooth silver plated with blued inlaid borders and floral motifs. The same floral patterns and silver plating cover the entire outer surface of the included scabbard and the interior surface is smooth silver plated with blued borders and floral motifs. Very fine overall, the blade almost entirely bright apart from some speckled surface oxidation and light pitting near the tip, attractively aged silver and crisp engraving on the remaining metal with minimal wear.
