Description:

This grouping includes two similar looking Caucasian style qama daggers, also commonly referred to as "Cossack" daggers, due to the famous horsemen regularly carrying them. Both of these examples have extensive engraving and silver inlays on both the hilts and scabbards, mostly featuring floral motifs. One of them has some rough markings on the blade, two of which may be an eagle stamp. One measures 17 1/8 inches overall and the other measures 17 inches overall. Provenance: The Dr. Gerald Klaz Collection

Rating Definition:

Both are fine the blades showing mostly a bright grey patina, darker on the marked example with some light pitting. The silver plating shows an attractively aged patina overall and most of it remains.
