This grouping includes two similar looking Caucasian style qama daggers, also commonly referred to as "Cossack" daggers, due to the famous horsemen regularly carrying them. Both of these examples have extensive engraving and silver inlays on both the hilts and scabbards, mostly featuring floral motifs. One has a crescent moon and two stars deeply stamped on the blade. One measures 15 1/2 inches overall and the other measures 16 1/8 inches overall. The example with the unmarked blade does not properly fit in its scabbard. Provenance: The Dr. Gerald Klaz Collection
Both are very good, most of the silver showing an attractively aged patina and otherwise generally mild wear and handling evidence.
