Fixed sights, with the "1917" date on the chamber and "DWM" monogram on the toggle. Three "crown/letter" proofs on the receiver, with the "Imperial Eagle" firing proof on the barrel, receiver and breechblock. Matching numbers are present on many components, including the magazine base and left grip panel, and some parts (like the right grip) blank. Fitted with straw finished small parts, "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" marked safety area and extractor, and checkered hardwood grips. With a brown leather holster stamped "1918" and a N. Burghard maker's mark on the back, and an unmarked takedown tool. Provenance: The Paul Crockett Jr. Collection
Very fine, with 85% plus of the original blue finish, showing mild scuffs on the barrel and grip straps, high edge wear, and mild spotting and handling marks. 80% of the original straw color is present on the small parts, and the grips are very fine with a coat of protective varnish added, and some mild dents and scuffs. The holster is very good, with tearing of the belt loops and scuffing and cracking overall. Mechanically excellent.
