Description:

This is a very nice example of 1 of the approximately 5,000 DWM 1906 Lugers in 7.65mm, manufactured for commercial sales. The toggle is marked with the "DWM" logo. There is a "crown/N" proofmark on the left side of the barrel extension, breechblock and front toggle. The matching serial number is marked on the front of the frame and on the underside of the barrel. Partial serial number "44" on the takedown lever (faint), side plate and below the rear sight. The lower safety position is correctly unmarked and bright. All blue finish with straw colored small parts, grip safety, unmarked nickel magazine with wooden base and fitted with checkered walnut grips.

Rating Definition:

Excellent. The pistol retains 95% plus faded original finish with some minor spotting on the left side of he barrel, high edge wear and some thinning on the grip safety and back strap. 40% of the straw color remains on the small parts with the most noticeable loss on the takedown and safety levers. The grips are very fine with a few minor dings and bruises in the otherwise crisp checkering. The markings are clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
