Description:

1) F.W. Hoeller Heer dagger, 14 1/2 inches overall, with a 9 3/4 inch blade, darkened furniture, "SW" monogram on the back of the guard, orange celluloid grip, and metal sheath with silver ribbon hanger. 2) Puma SA dagger with inscribed blade, 13 5/8 inches overall, 8 3/4 inch blade inscribed "Joh. Witzke/Scharf. 1/R53" on the reverse, illegible region mark on the guard, fancy tiger stripe walnut grip with "eagle" and "SA" medallions, and a brown enamel finished scabbard with leather hanger and a repeat of the inscription on the back of the throat. Traces of gold wash are visible in the "Alles fur Deutschland" etching. Witzke has not been identified, though the markings imply he was some manner of marksman or sniper. Provenance: The Paul Crockett Jr. Collection

Rating Definition:

1) Excellent, with mild wear and handling marks. 2) Very fine, with some mild spotting and polishing marks on the otherwise excellent blade, a few scuffs and dents on the sheath, and mild handling overall.
